Video Marketing- Increase your Rate of Conversion!

May 18th, 2008 | Category: Internet Marketing

Video marketing is something you should take a look at and I’ll show you what you can do with it. Bloggers and online marketers have been using video for some time. Some even say that it is a better way than others to convert customers. There are many, many kinds of videos up on the internet and some may be helpful to you while others may not. You need to take a look at what you need. Here are some types of videos:

  • Tutorials
  • Comedy videos
  • Gossip videos
  • Videos that have particular pitch
  • Self help and self improvement videos
  • Movie clips

There are many more as well. You will find that most of these videos online are fairly impressive. They often have nice visuals and good sound too. But one thing I came to realize as well was that videos require the online user to click on the play button which is an additional action. Video marketing can really be beneficial to you and your organization. Here are some of its pros:

  • If you have a blog then it is a great way to make users more attracted and for readers to stay longer.
  • It allows your readers to view you and see who you are in person therefore bringing you closer.
  • Videos can help present your message very clearly, better than just typed words and pictures.
  • Videos can help develop high credibility for your business

This doesn’t mean that video marketing is perfect. Check out the cons of video marketing:

  • It can be time consuming.
  • One needs to learn complex programs in order to edit videos.
  • You will be surprised to find that not all readers end up clicking the play button. You can track this to verify.

It wasn’t that long ago when only large companies with loads of money were the only ones who could afford video marketing. These videos were often made by advertising agencies and media companies. They involved a rather high cost and comprised corporate and branding promotional messages. The audience for this kind of advertising isn’t really that big and therefore the returns on this kind of marketing are rather poor. Of course the ad agencies and media companies did end up with big profits.

But that was the past. The present scenario has seen new technologies converge and make the production of online videos much easier. This has also made it cheaper and within the reach of the average person. The turning points in this video revolution are:

  • Broadband Access and its Spread: Broadband high-speed internet gained popularity as the costs involved fell. This enticed people and gave the average home user access to a high-speed net connection. This in turn resulted in the ability of the average user to watch high quality streaming media becoming easily possible.
  • Macromedia Flash Player: Macromedia is a company now owned by Adobe. Their latest Flash players have the ability to watch highly compressed yet high quality videos. Flash video or FLV could now be hosted on no-frills servers by average webmasters. Flash player is something most computers have as it is available for Windows and Linux for both PCs and Macs.
  • Youtube: One of the biggest reasons for the spread of online videos has to be Youtube. The dramatic rate at which Youtube grew meant that it has become on of the most popular sites ever. Couple that to the fact that it offered users a free platform for putting up videos on the internet and you have a winning formula. You didn’t even need complex programs, lots of skill or anything. All you need is a video clip and the internet to share it with millions online.
  • Improvements in Hardware: While software and the internet made it simpler to edit videos and to post them improvements in hardware made it possible to make them. Firstly the quality of Camcorders kept getting better while their prices dropped. Also you could connect them to your computers directly and computers themselves began offering better graphics for less.
  • Affordable Video Editing Software: As it became easier to make good videos it also became easier to edit them and produce great final versions too. Competition between the big players in the market led to Microsoft giving away Windows Movie Maker for free. Apple went all out as well and bundled iMovie on the Mac. Adobe also allowed users to buy the more affordable cut-down Premiere Elements thus enabling users to create high quality content at home.

Therefore it is evident that video marketing has become easier with the advent of technologies. This and the affordability and increase in quality of both hardware and software mean that one doesn’t have to rely on an expensive advertising agency for the production of videos. It can be done in-house by spending a little time, getting the right equipment and having the desire.

Self Involvement in the outsourced product creation

May 16th, 2008 | Category: Uncategorized

Dear readers,

Today, I am going to write about outsourcing. I have been working as a service provider for 3 years now and in this span of time, I have definitely learnt a lot on outsourcing. There are several people who ask me about outsourcing and how it works. Their major concern is the quality of the finished product and their rights to it.

This led me to believe that there may be many who are equally doubtful about outsourcing. Keeping their interests in mind, I have written the article below. Go through it and like always, I would appreciate, if you have any questions or suggestions!

Happy Reading!

You should ensure that you are involved in the process of outsourcing your ebook product. You should be involved in developing the outline of the content. After selecting a professional writer for an ebook product creation project, you should start developing and defining an outline for the project. Your heavy involvement is essential right from the beginning till the completion of the information product. This would ensure that your e-book or any other product that you want to create contains the relevant and necessary information.

Keeping the Final Editing Rights with You

You should ensure that you maintain the rights for final editing of your eBook or product. For this, you should work closely with the content developer while the e-book or the content is written right from the beginning till the time of completion.

You should verify all the information carefully. While editing the e-book for grammar and sentence structure, check its logical flow and style, and even the accuracy of other elements of high importance. You need to remember the fact that you are the one who will be ultimately responsible for the information displayed on your website or your e-book. Hence, you must take all the steps to ensure its accuracy. At the same time you should take care that you provide information that is interesting and necessary, especially when your e book has details on the medical issues.

Maintaining the final editing rights would also help you to check that you meet all the requirements and the stipulations set by advertisers. Since most of the e-books are sponsored by individuals or corporate, they would expect the website or the e-book to contain some of their suggestions as well. They might want some stuff to be incorporated in exchange for their sponsorship. Therefore the final version of the e-book needs to reviewed so as to ensure that the sponsor’s needs are taken care of and that the work is superior to competitors’ work.

Outsourcing your ebook and web content by screening the service providers and ghost writers on the basis of skill and qualifications is a tricky process. Most of the internet marketers are generally new to the sector and hence they can face some issues while outsourcing work. The only thing then to take care of is that you should outsource your non-core activity i.e. the task which you feel you cannot do on your own and which would require the help of an expert. Proper control should be maintained to avoid any lapse of work or timeline.

Since any work that would be done would be only for your business, you should be able to exercise proper control and supervision on work. You need to have a firm grasp on the work that you are outsourcing. Otherwise there can be instances when the output of the final product delivered will not meet your expectations, which would be productive neither for you nor for the individual doing your outsourced work.

Finally to conclude, the fact that needs to be emphasized is that, outsourcing has become the requirement of the time. You cannot do away with the truth that people all over the world are outsourcing tasks and are getting high quality output. Hence there is no harm in using this aspect and get high quality work done.

My Blog’s a Ghost- town

May 12th, 2008 | Category: Uncategorized

Dear readers,

I hate myself for being away from my blog for 2 months. Trust me, owing to the number of projects I had to handle and some unforseen situations that had really kept me so occupied, that I could not even invest 10 mins a day to post in my blog. My friends started cursing for not paying adequate attention to this “beautiful” blog of mine.

However , I am back and I will surely make it a point to keep my readers updated at regular intervals.

So, what did  I do all this time?

I worked on 5 eBooks, several articles and my upcoming PLR+ unique content membership site.

While working on my project, I came across a number of cool resources.. one of them being Barry’s automated center totalmarketer.

It’s an absolutely great solution for all non techies as well as for busy business men/women. Currently,he is offering a one month free signup to every one , to let you play with it and get used to it.

I am definitely using it for my next site, which is called femfriendlycontent (not live yet- expected launch date 15th May’08).

I better get back and finish some pending work, before I hit the sack tonight.

I will surely be back soon with some more interesting stuff.. till then why don’t you take a demo tour of Barry’s totalmarketer and already start planning your next fully automated online venture.Don’t forget to thank me later ;)
